In-Person Girl Scout Activity Guidance
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic
Black wording is from GSRV Guidelines
White wording is the hosting troop's own guidelines/requirements in addition to those from GSRV
COVID-19 is an extremely contagious virus that spreads easily in the community. This guidance recognizes the need to take all reasonable precautions to limit potential exposure for girls, volunteers, and families.
The COVID-19 pandemic continues to change as infection rates rise and fall in different areas. There may be regional differences or developments since this guidance was published. Continue to follow local, state, and national regulations and guidance.
Girls and volunteers are not required to participate in any activity. It is the sole discretion of each individual family and their comfort level with the planned activity.
GROUP SIZE - The maximum for indoor meetings and gatherings is 15 people including the required adult or volunteer ratio. A maximum of 13 girls allowed in each timeslot. Participants should expect to adhere to social distancing requirement of 6 feet.
FACE COVERINGS - Face coverings (masks) are a civic responsibility and a sign of caring for the community. Face coverings are recommended* at all Girl Scout activities to protect yourself and others from spreading or contracting COVID-19. Exception can be made for those who may not be able to wear masks due to medical conditions. All participants must bring their own face coverings.
PERSONAL CONTACT - Hugs, handshakes, “high-fives,” and even activities like the friendship circle or squeeze can transmit COVID-19 from person to person. Refrain from these gestures for the time being.
We will be inventing a substitution for the friendship squeeze so we can still experience the bonding ritual.
More information will be included in the participant email sent out one week prior to the event.
